When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number, password (encrypted), and profile photo. This information is necessary to create and maintain your account on the Platform.

1.2 Profile Information

Caregivers may provide additional information including a bio, headline, services offered, rates, availability schedule, experience level, and photos. Pet Owners may provide home type, yard information, and emergency contacts.

1.3 Pet Information

Pet Owners may provide detailed information about their pets, including name, breed, age, weight, gender, color, microchip information, spay/neuter status, personality traits, medical history, allergies, medications, feeding schedules, and care instructions. This information is shared with Caregivers you engage to ensure proper care.

1.4 Identity Verification Information

For Caregivers, we collect government-issued photo identification, a live facial scan video, and the resulting verification data. This information is processed securely and stored encrypted. ID documents and facial scan data are reviewed by our verification team and retained in accordance with our data retention policy.

1.5 Payment Information

We collect your preferred payment method identifiers (such as Venmo username, PayPal email, or CashApp handle) so that Users can arrange payment for services. We do not collect, store, or process any banking credentials, credit card numbers, or financial account passwords.

1.6 Communication Data

We collect messages sent through the Platform's messaging system between Owners and Caregivers. This enables us to provide the messaging service, ensure compliance with our Terms, and investigate any reported issues.

1.7 Booking Information

We collect information about bookings made through the Platform, including service type, dates, times, pet information, notes, and status. This information is shared between the relevant Owner and Caregiver.

1.8 Device and Usage Information

We automatically collect certain information about your device and how you interact with the Platform, including IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, pages visited, and timestamps. This information helps us improve the Platform and detect potential security issues.

1.9 Location Information

With your consent, we may collect your general location (city and state) to help match you with nearby Caregivers or Owners. We do not track your precise location.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To provide and maintain the Platform: Creating and managing your account, enabling connections between Users, facilitating messaging, and processing bookings;
• To verify identity: Conducting identity verification for Caregivers to maintain platform safety;
• To communicate with you: Sending service-related notifications, booking confirmations, safety alerts, and responding to your inquiries;
• To improve the Platform: Analyzing usage patterns, troubleshooting issues, and developing new features;
• To ensure safety and compliance: Monitoring for violations of our Terms, investigating reports, and complying with legal obligations;
• To provide customer support: Assisting with account issues, booking disputes, and general inquiries.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. We only share information in the following limited circumstances:

3.1 Between Matched Users

When an Owner and Caregiver are matched through a booking, we share necessary information between them to facilitate the service. This includes contact information, pet care details, and payment method identifiers. We share only the information necessary for the specific booking.

3.2 Service Providers

We may share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Platform, such as cloud hosting providers, email delivery services, and analytics providers. These service providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (such as a court or government agency). This includes complying with subpoenas, warrants, or other legal processes.

3.4 Safety and Protection

We may disclose your information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

3.5 Business Transfers

If RavPaw is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on the Platform of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information.

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

• Encryption of sensitive data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest (AES-256);
• Password hashing using industry-standard algorithms (bcrypt);
• Regular security assessments and vulnerability testing;
• Access controls limiting employee access to personal information;
• Secure data centers with physical and environmental protections;
• Regular backups and disaster recovery procedures.

While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Platform. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Identity verification documents (ID scans and facial scan videos) for Caregivers are retained for the duration of your active account plus three (3) years, after which they are securely deleted. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Access: You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• Correction: You can request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
• Deletion: You can request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions;
• Restriction: You can request that we restrict the processing of your information;
• Portability: You can request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format;
• Objection: You can object to certain types of processing;
• Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

The Platform is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information.
